What is Capllio?

Capllio is a AI-powered transcription and captioning tool. It converts speech in video and audio files into accurate text and SRT subtitle files in under 60 seconds, with no account or subscription required.

Is Capllio really free?

Yes — the core tool is free for starters. We keep it free by showing a short ad before each download. A very generous Pro plan is available for creators who need higher usage limits and want to skip ads.

How accurate are the captions?

Capllio uses one of the most accurate speech recognition models available. It performs exceptionally well across accents, technical vocabulary, and multiple languages. Clear audio consistently produces near-perfect transcripts.

What video and audio formats are supported?

For video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WEBM. For audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, and AAC. File size must be under 50MB and media duration under 5 minutes.

What languages does Capllio support?

Capllio supports 99 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, and many more. Select your language before uploading for best results, or use Auto-detect.

Is my video stored on your servers?

No. Your video never leaves your device. Only the decoded audio is sent securely to our servers for transcription. The audio is processed in memory and is never saved, stored, or logged. Your content is completely private.

What is an SRT file and how do I use it?

An SRT file is a standard subtitle format containing timestamped caption text. Upload it to YouTube Studio, TikTok, Instagram, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or any platform that supports manual captions. It works everywhere.

Can I translate subtitles into other languages?

Yes. The Subtitle Translator tool lets you upload a video, transcribe it, and translate the captions into any of 99 languages — all in one step. The translated SRT downloads ready to use.

Can I transcribe audio files too?

Yes. The Audio to Text tool supports MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, and AAC files. You can download your transcript as a plain TXT file or an SRT file with timestamps.

Why is there a 5-minute limit?

The free tier is powered by shared AI compute. The 5-minute limit keeps the service fast and free for everyone. Pro users get significantly higher limits. You can split longer videos and process them in separate uploads.

What is the Pro plan and what does it cost?

Pro gives you higher usage limits, no ad wait before downloads, and priority processing. See the Pricing page for current plans and rates. You can cancel anytime — no lock-in.

How do I add captions to a YouTube video?

Generate your SRT with Capllio, then go to YouTube Studio → your video → Subtitles → Add → Upload file. YouTube replaces its auto-generated captions with your accurate ones immediately — no review period needed.

Ready to caption your first video?

No account needed. No credit card. Just upload and get your SRT in under 60 seconds.
